Okotoks Healthy Family Resource Centre

The Okotoks Healthy Family Resource Centre (OHFRC) opened in 2000 and serves residents from Okotoks and surrounding areas including Black Diamond, Turner Valley and the Municipal District of Foothills.

Are you new to the community or curious about what services are available locally?

One visit can connect you to community services that will best meet your needs.

Education and Information

With the right resources and information, families can flourish. Centre staff can help you problem-solve, and will direct you to resources that can assist you. The Resource Cenre offers:

• Weekly groups for parents and their toddlers
• Fun, free family events
• A self-help lending library of books, videos, and brochures.
• Current job postings
• TLC Toddler Group schedule

Staff work in partnership with other agencies to promote awareness of social needs and to advocate for positive change.

Support and Assistance

Occasionally families experience difficulties and can benefit from additional services. Programs offered through the Centre are based on low income guidelines (click for table) and include:

• fee assistance for recreation
• family assistance Program
• summer camp registration
• back-to-school supplies program
• free tickets to events (as available)
• Christmas Supports – please see Holiday Helpers below.

Office Space for Visiting Professionals

• Alberta Health Services / Mental Health and Addictions (alcohol and drug use counseling for youth under 18 years of age)
• the Government of Alberta (Alberta Works program, including Income Support and Child Support Services)
• Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA)
• space is available free of charge for other non-profit organizations who work with Okotoks residents. Please contact coordinators to make arrangements.
